I have been highly motivated in 2017. I have many goals I want to accomplish. I realised I needed a daily routine in order to get everything done.
I started off setting alarms for everything in my to-do list. Ranging from:
- 6am – Wake Up
- 6.30am – Pack Work Out Gear
- 7am – Pack Lunch
- 7.30am – Journal
- 6pm – Work Out
- 7pm – Write
- 9pm – Read
- 9.30pm – Ready for Bed
- 3pm (Sunday Only) – Meal Prep
I had these alarms going off everyday for a month. As time went on, I started doing these tasks before the alarm prompted me. They had become habits!
As I showed in a previous blog, I started a habit tracker. This is good for at the end of the month to see if you actually stuck to your routine or not. Personally, I could see I fell off the wagon on weekends.
I tracked:
- Writing
- Reading
- Cooking
- Cleaning
- Laundry
- Exercise
- Water Intake
- Coffee Intake
I plan ahead using my happiness planner. If you have been following along – you’ve already seen this plug! I use colour coordination so at a glance I can see my to-do list for:
- Writing
- Friends & Family
- Exercise & Self-Care
- The Day Job
I now have an air-tight schedule/routine and I am accomplishing my tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly basis.
