Notice (#48 of 365)

Written as I sat in Max Brenner cafe.

A barrage of noise litters the coffee shop. The idea was to people watch, but without noise-cancelling headphones, the only observation is obnoxious.

Groups, large and small, huddle around cramped tables. Wait staff glide the aisles with sweet treats and steamy beverages.

A sip of dark vegan hot chocolate calms my nerves. I sit back with my notebook and feel kindred with a fly on a wall. Not a soul notices me, but I notice all.
