Neon orange beamed from the alarm clock. 3am. Not an ideal time to be awake.
“Why can’t I fall asleep?” She growled to herself.
She clawed at the covers and reefed them over her head. She face planted the pillow and hugged a sigh.
Her mind buzzed and electrified her body. She knew she should be tired, but her eyes were far from tired. As if morning had already come.
Others clouded her thoughts. She wished she cared less, but it wasn’t in her nature.
